M. Chapoutier, Côte Rôtie Neve Magnum
Tasting note from barrel (April 2020): Neve: a Côte Rôtie more marked by the vintage where spicy and floral notes give more clear expression to the micaschist hill. Fine power which is magnificently expressed on a soft tannic theme.
The Neve Sélection Parcellaire comes exclusively from the lieu-dit whose name it bears. Previously lying fallow, M. CHAPOUTIER started planting vines here in 2007. We had to wait until 2015 for the arrival of the first vintage of this Sélection Parcellaire. Just for the record, it took 11 years, no less than 4,000 hours of planting and the construction of walls covering a total of 500 m² to achieve this result! The southeast exposure of the plot endows the wine with remarkable complexity.
M Chapoutier’s ‘Selections Parcellaires’ (Single Vineyard Selectons) are exceptional wines, born from a single plot. A celebration of terroir. Farmed biodynamically with the highest respect for the soil, the vines and the environment.
