M. Chapoutier, Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Croix de Bois’
Tasting note from barrel (April 2020): Croix de Bois: this vintage displays remarkable elegance, where both spicy and wild strawberry notes deliver highly complex grenaches and suggest a wine for laying down for a long time.
Pebble rolled soils are typical in this appellation, there is also red clays and limestone rocks who keep the water and it’s a great a virtue during the dry season.
It gives fantastic wines with elegance and red fruit notes. It’s a beautiful kirshed Châteauneuf-du-Pape with pinot hints.
This 100 % Grenache gives the pure expression of terroir.
M Chapoutier’s ‘Selections Parcellaires’ (Single Vineyard Selectons) are exceptional wines, born from a single plot. A celebration of terroir. Farmed biodynamically with the highest respect for the soil, the vines and the environment.
