Jacques Prieur, Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Santenots 2018
Maximum 24 bottles per person.
“The 2018 Volnay Clos des Santenots 1er Cru comes exclusively from the old vines within the vineyard, around 60 years old. It has an attractive bouquet, a mélange of red and black fruit, pressed violets and incense, exuberant but controlled and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a silver bead of acidity that cuts through the layers of black fruit. Tighter than the Santenots from their holding’s younger vines, this probably has more aging potential. Superb.” – Neal Martin
