Domaine de la Pousse d’Or, Les Jarollières Pommard 1er Cru La Pousse d’Or 2019
“Maximum 12 bottles per person.
92-94 points from Jasper Morris MW:
“”Ripe purple-crimson, with some good density. Opens out really well on the palate, with some proper Pommard tannins hidden by the density of quite dark, but still lively fruit which swamps them. Particularly long and intense finish. Tasted: October 2020″”
Thanks to rapid investment in the land and the winery by Patrick Landanger and his son Benoit there has been a contemporary surge in quality at the domaine. The iconic homestead is unmissable as you drive into the village of Volnay where the majoirty of the holdings are located. Beyond the Côte de Beaune there are enviable holdings in Chambolle Musigny too. Biodynamic pracitces are followed. The four storey cuverie is sunk into the hill behind the house accommodating gravity fed winemaking and extensive barrel and more recently amphorae cellars The wines exude elegance and finesse in an unashamedly modern style which has captured the attention of collectors and drinkers worldwide.
