The 2022 La Tour Carnet was picked from 12 September to 4 October. Of course, it has absorbed Château Caronne Ste. Gemme after last year’s acquisition by Bernard Magrez, making it the largest estate on the Left Bank. It is laden with ripe black cherries, raspberry coulis and fig scents, hints of iodine in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a sappy entry. I like the marine influence in this wine. It is well balanced with a slightly powdery texture and fresh finish. Give it 4-5 years in bottle.
Anticipated maturity: 2028-2040
