Château Gazin is located on the north-eastern part of the Pomerol plateau, between Châteaux Petrus, l’Evangile and Lafleur-Gazin, on a terroir of Gunzian gravel with a subsoil of blue and green clay. The vineyard is managed with an environmentally friendly approach: ploughing by horse, organic fertilizers, minimum use of pesticides, mating disruption, manual harvests. l’Hospitalet de Gazin, the second wine of Château Gazin, has been produced since 1986 from the fruit of younger vines. In 2020 the chateau underwent a more stringent selection producing a much more interesting wine with density and complexity.

Lagrange will be one of the vintage’s hottest wines, with scores in the mid 90s from Suckling. We rated the 2020 the best vintage ever for this property. Situated on the northern border of the... Pomerol plateau close to many illustrious neighbours, the vineyard is planted on heavy clay soils, where water retention in 2020 was so important. The vineyard work is meticulous, allowing the grapes to be picked when they are perfectly ripe. Supple, round, generous and fruit-driven, Lagrange is a delightful expression of the lighter style of Pomerol wines, approachable in its youth yet age worthy too.Duty Status: In BondAvailability: Future Arrival
