James Suckling 98-99
This has superb depth and intensity with very fine tannins that draw you down. So much black fruit, together with black pepper and salt. Extremely well crafted. Vertical and deep. Chalky and salty with black chocolate.
The 2020 Mondot is everything a second wine should be – plump, juicy and inviting. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and tobacco all meld together nicely. Time in the glass brings out a bit more nuance, as hints of wild flowers and raspberry add brightness. This is nicely done.
